Action for Social Justice at UUCOB
ACTION FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE COMMITTEE: The Committee focuses on issues brought to the group by UUCOB members or through other sources, i.e., UUA or other UU groups. Examples of Social Justice areas include voting rights, immigration/refugee support, gun safety, LGBTQ rights and protections, juvenile justice reform, and racism. Members of the Action for Social Justice Committee aspire to enhance UUCOB’s inclusion through written information on other religions, philosophies, cultures, sexual orientation/identification and in collaboration with the Worship Committee.

Voting Rights
A fundamental principle of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) is the use of the democratic process. Unitarian Universalist congregations affirm and promote the right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large. This is our Fifth Principle.
As an expression of our faith, many Unitarian Universalist congregations engage in voter registration, election reform issues, protecting voting rights and – Get -Out- the-Vote drives.
Here at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation Ormond Beach (UUCOB), we support voting education and promote voter registration. Our members are involved in the voting rights issues according to their own individual priorities.
To this aim we offer this Voter Readiness checklist for your consideration.
